Alabaster Sheets

Translucent alabaster sheets that glow beautifully when backlit. Ideal for feature walls, false-ceiling coves, reception counters and mood-lit niches.

Alabaster sheets are translucent panels that carry a stone-like vein pattern and come alive when light passes through them. Placed over an LED backlight they turn a niche, a counter front or a ceiling cove into a soft light source rather than a lit-up surface. Because the sheet is light and workable, it can be curved around counters and columns where a real onyx slab would be impractical and enormously expensive.

Why choose Alabaster Sheets from Rosewood Interio

Backlights evenly

Diffuses LED strips into a soft, even glow with no visible hotspots when spaced correctly.

Onyx look, practical weight

The depth of backlit stone without slab weight, breakage risk or slab pricing.

Curves and cuts easily

Can be shaped around counters, columns and cove profiles on site.

Stable colour

The veining is consistent sheet to sheet, so large runs match without hunting for a matching block.

Where it is used

  • Backlit reception and bar counters
  • Feature niches behind the TV or bed
  • False-ceiling light coves
  • Pooja room and temple backdrops

Alabaster Sheets — frequently asked questions

How far behind the sheet should the LED sit?
Around 60mm–100mm for strip lighting, depending on strip density. We advise on the cavity depth before you build the frame.
Does it work unlit?
Yes — unlit it reads as a soft stone panel. Most clients use it lit in the evening and unlit through the day.
What thicknesses are available?
Commonly 3mm to 6mm. Thicker sheets diffuse more softly; thinner sheets transmit more light.
